　　Is Good Appearance More Important than Capability?

　　Old people often tell the young, “Don’t judge a person by his appearance”, meaning capability is more important than appearance. However, nowadays, with more interviewers putting emphasis on looks and the appearance of the applicants(独立主格结构表示原因), a lot of people come to the conclusion(得出结论) that appearance is more important than capability.

　　老人们常告诉年轻人：“不要以貌取人”，意思就是说能力比容貌更加重要。然而，现如今，鉴于更多的人在面试中强调面貌，因此，许多人得出这样的结论容貌比能力更加的重要。

　　As for me, I can’t agree with this argument. Good appearance is pleasant, but capability is more important, because it demonstrates one’s self-cultivation and practical values. It shows the efforts and the glory of acquiring something through one’s hard work, whereas good looks bespeak no struggle of the individual. Besides, maybe sometimes a beautiful face can help a girl acquire a good position, but in the long run(长久看来) it is her talent not her look that really works in her career development.(强调句)

　　至于我，我不同意这样的观点。好的容貌是悦人的，但是能力更加重要，因为它能证明一个人的自我修养和实际的价值。它表明通过一个人的努力而获得某种东西的努力和光荣，而不是好的容貌使你不劳而获。此外，或许有时一个美丽的容貌能够帮助一个女孩获得一个好的职位，但是长久看来是她的资质不是她的容貌在她的事业发展中起着作用。

　　Therefore, those without good appearance(作those的定语) needn’t feel depressed because one’s success depends on his capability; those with good appearance have to work hard since good appearance cannot bring a person final success.

　　因此，那些没有好的容貌的人不需要感到沮丧因为一个人的成功依赖他的能力，而那些有好的容貌的更需要好好努力因为好的容貌并不会给你带来最终的成功。

　　In recent years,blog has become very popular.More and more people have created their own blogs and often visit others' blogs.They use blog to review their inner voice or collcet and share thoughts and things they find interesting.In brief,blog is an online diary or frequently updated personal page.

　　Why does blog become so popular in such a short time?Firstly, it is the widespread of Internet that provides a platform for the appearance and popularity of blog.Secondly,anyone can create his own blog as he wishes.Blog has no fixed rules and needn't professional knowledge and skills,which enables millions of people to have a voice and connect with others.Thirdly,blog covers all kinds of topics from daily life to political forums,from individual thoughts to world events.Among millions of blogs,you can always find something you are interested in.

　　However,blog has some problems.For one thing,plagiarism in blog is not unusual.The protection of blog copyright cannot be guaranteed.For another,many blog content so in and mass and some even include unhealthy things.Therefore,blog still has a long way to run before it becomes mature.

　　Advantages of Trying New Things

　　It is widely accepted that one is more likely to succeed at things he already knows how to do well.However,to limit ourselves to doing only those things we are good at will make us miss many opportunities to develop other interests and skills.Therefore,sometimes it is necessary for us to try some new things and take some rests.Though we have the risk of failure when trying new things,we can get many advantages from it.

　　Firstly,the process of trying a new thing is a rewarding experience,from which we may feel a different world.Secondly,even if we fail,we can still absorb experience and lessons from the trying process and our failure.Thirdly,if it turns out that we succeed at this new try,we'll get great pleasure and confidence.Finally,it is impossible for us to never fail even if we do only what we are familiar with.We don't know when we'll meet the situation we can't control.With experience of trying new things,when facing unexpected situations,we can deal with them better.

　　Condidering the above mentioned,we needn't be afraid of new things but should bravely try them.But it is worth noting that trying new things bravely does not mean acting rashly and blindly.We should take full account before we are ready to try new things.

　　As we see, the extended holidays have caused unexpected great travel craze and brisk economic activities.But there are many debates on the advantages and disadvantages of this kind of holiday economy.Many people,especially some economists,are in favor of the holiday economy.They believe that tourism-based holiday economy has raised consumption and helped to spur the domestic demands.In addition,transportation,catering,hotels and service industries become flourishing during long holidays.

　　However,many others argue that the holiday economy do more harm than good.First,the travel craze puts a heavy burden on the traffic system.Second,thousands of tourists full scenic spots causing over crowdedness and safety problems.

　　As to me,I believe the advantages of holiday economy outweigh its disadvantages.After all,holiday economy greatly benefits the development of our overall economy.Besides,consumers can enjoy more colourful commodities and more preferential policies provided by the merchants.But the government should take effective measures to reduce the side effects of holiday economy.
